The variety we cultivate contains a high concentration of the plant's key ingredient, Cynarin. These plants are cultivated in optimum growing conditions and have to meet a variety of strict criteria including minimum hours of sunshine and maximum soil acidity levels. This high degree of care ensures leaves are harvested in their prime and produce the highest yield of Cynarin extract. Only the lower leaves of one-year old plants, those richest in the active ingredient, are used in Cynara.

After gently drying the leaves to preserve their Cynarin we use state of the art processing methods to extract, purify and measure it. Every Cynara Artichoke tablet contains 320mg of concentrated standardised dry Cynarin extract of artichoke, equivalent to 8mg of fresh artichoke (Cynara scolymus).
