Did you make the most of the summer time when the living was easy? Bringing home a few extra pounds after your summer break is often the case, but we'll show you how to assess the damage and simple ways to shift the weight.
Keeping an eye on your weight is important for maintaining your overall health and well being, as well as your heart health. Your Body Mass Index, or BMI, is used by health professionals as a way to calculate if you are a healthy weight. This is measured from your weight and your height in order to see if you have a healthy level of body fat. The higher your BMI level, the more your weight can affect your health, putting you at greater risk of serious health problems.
Please note: A BMI measure is not as accurate if you're an athlete or very muscular as muscle is heavier than fat and can push you into a higher BMI level even if you have a healthy level of body fat. It is also not accurate for women who are pregnant, breast-feeding, people who are frail or children.
Once you know your height and weight, look on the table below to see your BMI.

BMI 18.5 - 24.9 Ideal weight
BMI 25 - 29.9 Overweight
