The herb we use is cultivated in controlled circumstances where the optimum growing conditions can be guaranteed. This high degree of care ensures the carefully selected roots are harvested at their absolute peak so they produce the highest yield of active ingredient: a patented extract called LI 156.

After gently drying the root to preserve this active ingredient, we use state of the art processing methods to extract, purify and measure it. Every Valerian tablet contains a concentrated, standardised 300mg extract of valerian root (Valeriana officinalis) providing 1800µg of active ingredient. This is found to be the optimum amount for the body. Absolute accuracy means you can be confident you will get the same dose every time.

Valerian root can also be found in Sedonium which is only available over the counter in pharmacies.

Important Notice

Valerian is not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women or children under 12.

People currently taking sedative medication or hypnotic drugs should not take it as the sedative action of their medication could be increased.

It should not be taken by those with a hypersensitivity to the valerian root or any other ingredient.

It should also not be taken by patients with liver impairments or patients on other medication known to have the potential for liver toxicity or induction of liver enzymes.
